Brij (2013)
After being away from the discographic market since 2007 (publication year of “Under Full Sail: It All Comes Together”), the band Ekoostik Hookah returns with a CD titled “Brij”, which was recorded in March 2010 but only published in 2013 because of formation changes.
Ten compositions (eight of them signed by Dave Jatz and two by Eric Lanese) where the band from Ohio once again shows its full, fantastic potential: guitars that intertwine in astonishing rock staves, long songs that find exquisite perfection in the endless live shows of the quintet.
When “Brij” was recorded, Ekoostik Hookah was composed of: Dave Katz (keyboard, voice, acoustic guitar), Eric Lanese (drums, voice), Phil Risko (bass, voice), Eric Sargent (electric and acoustic guitar, voice) and Steve Sweney (solo guitar).
Ekoostik Hookah affirms its leading role in the fantastic world of American jam bands thanks to compositions of unrelenting rhythm, captivating melodic developments and enthralling instruments.
