Onward (2015)
Produced by Dave Cobb (who has already worked with artists such as Jason Isbell, Jamey Johnson and Chris Stapleton), the young American musician Christian Lopez hits the music market with his second work entitled Onward.
The follow-up disc to his pilot mini-CD (containing five tracks) is fresh, direct and never boring.
Onward’s eleven songs were all written by Lopez, except for Oh Those Tombs (a traditional song performed, among others, by Roy Acuff, The Blue Sky Boys and Hank Williams).
The genuine, smooth and lively rock sound running through the entire production stems from the combined talents (besides of Lopez on vocals, guitar, piano and harmonica) of Chelsea McBee on vocals and banjo, Chris Powell on drums and percussion, Joe Stark and Adam Gardner on bass, the aforementioned Dave Cobb on guitars and percussion, Mike Webb on piano and organ, and Ben Kitterman on dobro guitar.
