Forty-four years separate 91-year-old blues singer Bobby Rush and guitarist Kenny Wayne Shepherd. Both born in Louisiana, they met on the blues trail in "Young Fashioned Ways", an album in which they show themselves to be perfectly in tune, faithful to tradition but also eager to refresh it. Five of the ten songs on the album are written by both artists, four by Bobby Rush alone, and "Young Ways" also features a song by Willie Dixon.
Among the original compositions, "Who Was That" stands out, included in the soundtrack of the 2025 film "Flight Risk" directed by Mel Gibson and starring, among others, Mark Wahlberg and Michelle Dockery.
