ROBERT PLANT
Saving Grace (2025)
For about six years, Robert Plant has been lovingly cultivating the "Saving Grace" project together with musicians who live near his English residence in Worcestershire and who now perform with him regularly in live shows around the world. Portuguese singer and accordionist Suzi Dian, her husband Oli Jefferson (drums, percussion, and backing vocals), Matt Worley (banjo, acoustic guitar, cuatro, vocals, and backing vocals), Tony Kelsey (acoustic guitar, electric guitar, baritone guitar, vocals, and backing vocals), and Barney Morse-Brown (cello) form the band with which Plant (vocals and harmonica) embarks on a new journey through the ancient and modern history of music, skillfully navigating Anglo-American folk, blues, psychedelia, and indie rock.
In addition to revisiting traditional songs, "Saving Grace" features interesting reinterpretations of "It's A Beautiful Day Today" (Moby Grape), "Everybody's Song" (Low), "Ticket Taker" (The Low Anthem) and compositions by contemporary songwriters such as Sarah Siskind (who wrote "Too Far From You") and Martha Scanlan ("Higher Rock").
