The musical partnership between CeeLo Green and dedicated producer Dan Auerbach (who is also a member of The Black Keys line-up and boasts brilliant albums in his own name) has caused the American singer (born in 1974 in Atlanta, Georgia) to change the course of his musical interest toward a decidedly captivating form of soul.
“CeeLo Green Is Thomas Callaway” not only reveals the musician’s true identity, but also shifts his playing field from somewhat mediocre hip hop and rap (genres which Callaway has engaged with both solo and with line-ups like Goodie Mob and Gnarls Barkley) to highly sophisticated, classy and enchanting soul.
Most of the 12 tracks on the CD are signed by the proprietor together with Dan Auerbach, who also features with the guitar and is the owner of Easy Eye Sound, the record label that has released the album.
