SONNY GULLAGE

With a family of musicians behind him (his father Tony is a well-known bassist collaborator with Dr.John, Henry Butler and other musicians in the New Orleans area, and his grandmother Sister Alberta was a gospel music singer who owned a few records on the Wajo label in the mid-1960s), 25-year-old Kevin "Sonny" Gullage makes his recording debut (on the Blind Pig Records label) with the torrential "Go Be Free".
Committed to singing, composing and keyboards, Gullage succeeds in packaging a spectacular miscellany of various musical genres: blues, funk, gospel, jazz and soul are the mainstays of "Go Be Free"'s twelve tracks, all of which bear the signature (either solo or with Gullage himself or, again, with other artists) of Tom Hambridge, collaborator of Buddy Guy, B.B. King, Susan Tedeschi, Delbert McClinton as well as "Go Be Free"'s producer.
The soaring track "Worried About The Young" (signed by Hambridge, Richard Fleming and Sonny Gullage) features guitarist Christone "Kingfish" Ingram as a guest.
