MYLES GOODWYN
Myles Goodwyn And Friends Of The Blues (2018)
Founder, guitarist, solo voice and composer of the Canadian band April Wine (which enjoyed success in the 1970s), Myles Goodwyn releases his second solo album “Myles Goodwyn And Friends Of The Blues".
Right from its title, it can be understood what music genre Goodwyn focuses his interests on: in fact, the blues reign supreme in each and every one of the twelve tracks of the collection. Above all, these are performed with zeal, passion and sophistication not only by the main performer on the album but also by illustrious guests, present in the recording studio: these include, the pianist Kenny Wayne, the guitarist Amos Garret, Rick Derringer, Steve Segal (who was also a member of April Wine during the 1990s), David Wilcox and Frank Marino (this latter was the founder of the Canadian granite-hard rock trio Mahogany Rush).
The songs on “Myles Goodwyn And Friends Of The Blues” were all composed by Goodwyn, except for “Isn’t That So”, which was written by Canadian singer-songwriter Jesse Winchester, who originally featured on his 1972 album entitled “Third Down, 110 To Go”.
