ANDERSON EAST
Delilah (2015)
Born in Athens (Alabama, United States) in 1988, Michael Anderson (author of the 2009 album Closing Credits For A Fire) debuts with his new monicker, Anderson East, with the CD Delilah.
The album offers a powerful blend of rhythm&blues, soul, country and straightforward rock, elaborated by an Anderson East in splendid form. His bold and highly expressive voice accompanies the listener during each of the album’s ten tracks.
Nine of the songs were penned by Anderson East, either by himself or alongside other musicians such as Charlie Pate (from Nashville, half of the duo Yip Yap Yup alongside Aaron Raitiere), Chris Stapleton (as in the vivacious Quit You). Find 'Em, Fool 'Em And Forget 'Em was instead written by George Jackson (deceased in 2013 and the author of major hits for Bob Seger, The Osmonds, Wilson Pickett, etc).
Well-known producer Dave Cobb (who worked on records by Christian Lopez, Jason Isbell, Jamey Johnson, Chris Stapleton and many more) appears in multiple roles on Delilah: producer, arranger, owner of the Low Country Sound label (distributed by Elektra Records) which Delilah is released on, as well as guitarist on many of the CD’s tracks.
