THE RECORD COMPANY
Give It Back To You (2016)
The band is a trio, yet the sound created on their album “Give It Back To You” is worthy of a five-piece ensemble.
The Record Company formed in 2011 in Los Angeles, although the singer, guitarist and harmonica player Chris Vos comes from Wisconsin (Milwaukee, to be precise), while Marc Cazorla (drums, backing vocals and keyboards) is from Elmira (New York) and Alex Stiff (bass, guitar and backing vocals) is from Wayne (Pennsylvania).
The formation owes its fortunes to the public acclaim it earned while touring in 2015 as the opening act for Blackberry Smoke, to the soundtracks it recorded for numerous TV series, and to the fact that their track “Off The Ground” (the opening song on the CD) was used for the North American advertisement of a well-known beer brand.
The music on offer is a clever blend of rough blues and sharp-edged rock, where the trio’s writing style (all the ten tracks on “Give It Back To You” were composed by the three musicians) perfectly marries their essential approach, void of useless frills and, at the same time, as corrosive as it is thrilling.
