JOE BONAMASSA
Blues Of Desperation (2016)
Joe Bonamassa's discographic and live activities are no less than intense, almost frantic. The career of the guitarist/singer/songwriter born in Utica (in the County of Oneida, State of New York) is characterized by continuous releases and hundreds of live shows.
If we also consider his numerous and challenging participations in other projects (collaborations with singer Beth Hart, past and present activities in bands such as Bloodline, Black Country Communion and Rock Candy Funk Party, as well as his participation in many tribute projects), one can’t help but wonder where he finds the time to record new works under his own monicker.
And yet, the irrepressible guitarist’s discographic career has maintained extremely high quality standards for years. As proven by the 2016 album (the first of how many?) entitled “Blues Of Desperation”, with its eleven tracks composed by Bonamassa alongside other artists (James House, Tom Hambridge, Gary Nicholson, Jeffreys Steele, Jerry Flowers) or on his own (as in the case of closing track “What I've Known For A Very Long Time”), where blues is strengthened by injections of invigorating and unstoppable rock.
