After emerging in 1989 as Boys Of Sligo (from the name of the Irish city Sligo, the capital of the county of the same name), the group transformed its name into the current Dervish after recording an album of only instrumental tracks.
“The Great Irish Song Book” celebrates both the band’s 30-year anniversary and traditional Irish music: 13 compositions of Irish musical tradition revisited with respect for the originals and enriched by the presence of distinguished guests, including actor Brendan Gleeson, Steve Earle, Vince Gill, Jamey Johnson and David Gray.
