Rose City Band is the musical creature of Ripley Johnson, a graceful and dreamy American guitarist from Portland, Oregon, formerly a member of the Moon Duo and Wooden Shjips ensembles.
"Garden Party", the fourth album released in April 2023 by Rose city Band, is a charming miscellany of country rock, enveloping ballads (the more than seven minutes of "Mariposa", one of the record's most representative tracks, are worth all of them), crumbs of blues and light breezes of sunny psychedelia (as in the case of "Slow Burn", a song with which a captivating animation video created by Mickey Miles has been associated).
