VANESSA PETERS
Flying On Instruments (2024)
As already seen in the excellent 2021 album "Modern Age", the latest release "Flying On Instruments" (officially published on February 23, 2024) continues to present intriguing existential reflections projected onto the external world by the artist Vanessa Peters.
Originally from Dallas, Texas, but a resident of Italy for several years, the American singer-songwriter (vocals and acoustic guitar) manages to captivate listeners with nine kaleidoscopic tracks excellently performed alongside a seasoned band composed of her husband Rip Rowan on drums, Federico Cianciabilla on electric guitar, the outstanding Matteo Patrone on piano and keyboards, and Andrea Colicchia on bass.
In the tracks "How Long" and "Wasted Days", Joe Reyes, a musician from San Antonio (Texas) and a longtime friend of Peters, joins in on mandolin, lap steel guitar, and drums. Reyes is also a co-producer of "Flying On Instruments" alongside Rowan, who is also involved in recording, mixing, and art layout for the album.
"Flying On Instruments" also features a string section consisting of two violins, viola, and cello, with arrangements and recording handled by Buffi Jacobs, who contributed to Peters' previous works.
