Formed in 2006 in Raleigh (capital of Wake County and state capital of North Carolina), the U.S. band American Aquarium is one of the brightest realities of those intriguing musical genres referred to as "alt-country" and "Americana".
Marked by numerous lineup changes, American Aquarium has always been the artistic expression of BJ Barham. This fine composer and vocalist has also deeply characterized the artistic content of the 2024 album "The Fear Of Standing Still": ten tracks of crystalline beauty (well represented by the cover depicting the excellent oil painting "ODE" by California painter Whitney Gardner), even when the musical stave becomes populated with vehement notes.
