MIKE FARRIS

The Sound Of Muscle Shoals (2025)

To record "The Sound Of Muscle Shoals" (released seven years after his previous album, Silver & Stone), the American musician (born in 1968 in Winchester, Tennessee) Mike Farris traveled to Muscle Shoals (a town located in Colbert County, Alabama) to 603 East Avalon Avenue, home of the famous Fame Studios, which had already been frequented by artists of the caliber of Aretha Franklin, Little Richard, Wilson Pickett, Etta James, Lou Rawls, Otis Redding, Candi Staton, Gregg Allman, Keb' Mo', Bettye Lavette, and Anderson East, to name just a few. The 2025 album "The Sound Of Muscle Shoals" by the former singer and founder of the band The Screamin' Cheetah Wheelies features 11 songs (including a captivating version of Tom Petty's "Swingin'") in which gospel and rock‘n’roll, soul and rhythm & blues, earthly impulses and spirituality intertwine.
