After releasing three albums between 2016 and 2019, Durand Jones & The Indications returned to their hometown of Bloomington, Indiana, to record their latest album, "Flowers", using the basement where they had recorded their debut album. They self-produced the album and developed a repertoire written mainly in the Chicago studio owned by the band's guitarist, Blake Rhein. Much of "Flowers" consists of first drafts and elaborations of demos that guarantee spontaneity and naturalness in the recordings.
In addition to the aforementioned Rhein, Aaron Frazer (drums and synthesizers), Steve Okonski (keyboards), and Michael Isvara Montgomery (bass) move nimbly between soul, funk, disco, and caressing pop.
