Watermelon Slim is the monicker used by Bill Homans, a blues musician born in Boston and raised in North Carolina.
Similarly to his previous works, his 2019 release - significantly entitled “Church Of The Blues” – is yet another triumph of notes belonging to the blues genre.
In addition to compositions penned by the artist, the CD also features tributes to artists such as Chester Arthur “Howlin’ Wolf” Burnett (with the song “Smokestack Lightning”), McKinley Morganfield “Muddy Waters” (with the track entitled “Gypsy Woman”), Allen Touissant (with “Get Out Of My Life Woman”) and others.
