YOLA
Walk Through Fire (2019)
After the release of the mini-CD “Orphan Offering” in 2016 and her militancy in the group Phantom Limb, the singer and composer Yolanda Quartey (also known as Yola, born in 1984 in Bristol, England) was signed up by Dan Auerbach (from the group The Black Keys and also a committed producer) for his own record label Easy Eye Sound.
“Walk Through Fire” reveals a singer with a powerful, edgy and highly expressive voice, a composer with a sensitive style of writing and a wise aggregator of various musical genres (from rock to rhythm & blues, from gospel to country and from soul to blues).
A total of twelve tracks (all written by Yola herself) that clearly herald the birth of a new star in the galaxy of international rock music.
