JOHN SMITH
The Fray (2021)
Talented UK-born guitarist and singer-songwriter, John Smith pays homage to the assayers of refined, classily played music with his album “The Fray”.
Produced by Smith in collaboration with Sam Lakeman, “The Fray” is a collection of twelve tracks (composed by Smith either alone or in collaboration with musical colleagues such as singer-songwriter Sarah Siskind, to name just one) presenting the artist as deeply inspired, imparting gravitating emotions out to the world of the most noble of folk music.
The album features a group of guests to bring the already considerable quality of the pieces to an even higher level: guitarist Bill Frisell, singers Lisa Hannigan, Sarah Jarosz, Courtney Hartman and Jessica Staveley-Taylor, and the Californian duo The Milk Carton Kids.
