BETH HART & JOE BONAMASSA
Black Coffee (2018)
Matching the mighty voice of Beth Hart with the heated electric guitar operated by Joe Bonamassa is like shaking a bottle filled with nitroglycerin.
The previous album by the Seesaw duo (released in 2013, and even before it, "Don’t Explain" in 2011) had already set things on fire, yet 2018's record "Black Coffee" further enhances the sound impact, with the risk listeners might be knocked out by some of the tracks.
Ten compositions by other authors (from Ike & Tina Turner to Chester “Howlin’ Wolf” Burnett, including Lucinda Williams and Jerry LaCroix & Edgar Winter) performed with excellent grit and class.
The album was recorded in Las Vegas and produced by “veteran” Kevin Shirley (with Bonamassa for a number of years), who also mixed it in Malibu and Sydney.
