ROBERT RANDOLPH AND THE FAMILY BAND
Brighter Days (2019)
Robert Randolph was born in Irvington (in the County of Essex, New Jersey, United States) in 1977 and began playing in local churches in the area from a very young age, specializing (and eventually becoming a virtuoso) in the use of the pedal steel guitar, a string instrument played with a heavy metal cylinder.
His skills led to frequent invitations from other musicians to appear as a special guest on numerous albums.
His 2019 recording is entitled “Brighter Days”: produced by the attentive Dave Cobb, it offers his fans a triumph of light-speed notes launched by his pedal steel guitar. The ten tracks on the CD range from gospel (a genre Randolph has always been fond of) to solid rock, from intense ballads to blues and soul.
