WILCO
Cousin (2023)
For the production of the recent album "Cousin" (officially released on September 29, 2023), the leader of the band Wilco, Jeff Tweedy, enlisted the help of Cate Le Bon. This Welsh singer-songwriter, whose real name is Cate Timothy, had a significant influence on the creation and realisation of the ten songs featured in "Cousin". Her often distorted and experimental take on psychedelic and floral pop is prominently showcased in Tweedy's new compositions.
Recorded at the prestigious Chicago studio, The Loft, owned by Wilco, between January 2019 and March 2023, "Cousin" features Jeffrey Scot "Jeff" Tweedy (vocals and guitar), John Stirratt (bass), Glenn Kotche (drums), Mikael Jorgensen (keyboards), Nels Cline (guitar), and Patrick Sansone (guitar and keyboards). The already mentioned Cate Le Bon joins them, contributing on bass, piano, synthesizer, and vocals, while Euan Hinshelwood plays the saxophone, and Spencer Tweedy (Jeff's son) handles percussion and vocals.
